Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
~ Theodore Roosevelt.
I think it is pretty obvious to most people that this year, 2016, is an important year for me. I turn 50. What you might not know is, 8 years ago, when Welshot was born, I set myself some pretty unmovable targets and goals – I had until I was 50 to get “Stuff” done. At Christmas time (I am not at my most happiest for personal reasons) – I was under the duvet feeling all sorts of emotions and I made some pretty harsh decisions, both personally and professionally. After being incredibly hurt, lonely and sad I decided then and there that I was going to look after number one (Me), number two (My OH) and number three (Eif)… I care about a lot of people in my life and that’s never going to change but really, when it comes down to it only two should have, in the main, any influence on my feelings, emotions and decisions.
Again, I got to thinking about “Finding Lee” – and what my good friend Jason Edwards and a few others had made me think about – as you would expect from me my unmovable goals and targets where all based around Welshot and while I am happy about that I wanted to add some to a personal bucket list too…
After some shocked looks from friends when I’d told them I’d never done this, this, or this, and even this, I realised that at nearly 50 – all I’d pretty much done was work, either that or I am really boring and I want to change that fact.
Making time for in Lee 2016 #MakingtimeforLeein2016 was born and it was all going to be recorded through Photography & More (Explained here in “Ditching the Shizzle or doing it MY Way”) as a way of journalling my personal adventures with those I love and want to spend my time with.
So, without further ado – here is my “Fifty @ Fifty – Stuff I want to do…” list. Some things I have never done, some I want to do more of and some are for Welshot too. I am, just so you know, giving myself until I am 51 to do all this “Stuff” – after all, you are 50 until you are 51 😉
What do YOU want to do in the last 7 Months of 2016? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
